it's easy for me to say at this point in time that the Mets are rolling on all four - and the Yanks are crawling on their knees -

but as cliche as it is -it's a 162 game season - problem for the Yanks is that now that A-rod can't deflect the focus on the Yanks real problems - a lot of players age, and deficiencies are much more apparent -

suddenly a lot of the untouchables have become mere mortals - while A-rod is A-rod ......

the Mets are rock solid - the decibel level is low and the vibes are great -

negatives will eventually become positives - such as Delgado and Wright getting off to slow starts - and injuries when/if they occur are just an opportunity for showcasing more talent backed up in the minors -

Nochbar, Boone, Williams, Wright, Collins, House & Moore - the no names

they are the reason for the Nets success - hands down -

Carter, Kidd & Jefferson get paid for just showing up at games - where they most often show up to play also - but when they don't show up they get a pass -

difference is that no-names show up to keep their jobs - and in the nets case there will be no help-wanted signs out during the summer!!!

Yes .... the New Jersey Nets 3 superstars showed no "D" against the Pistons last night - in Detroit Vince Carter was his usual all offense but no defense - Richard Jefferson is playing passive on "D" and Jason Kidd is just tiring -

MAYBE THEY COULD USE SOME HELP FROM A FEW OF THE YOUNG KNICKS who showed some "D" last night against Dallas!

Perhaps Lawrence Franks should take a hint from Isiah Thomas and rely less on Carter & Kidd to keep his job - whereas last year the bench wasn't used and the superstars were abused - this year the bench is too long and the superstars are still being abused - there seems to be no balance or logic to Franks bench substitutions -

Boone has emerged but why not earlier in the season - is a coach's job to be perceptive as well as good with X's and O's? - YES! - something Franks will learn with age not wins -

The Nets - a team with no excuses, no coach to blame and no personal agenda's are about to turn it around in time to salvage a disappointing season. They have discovered the hidden talents of Moore, Nochbar and Wright as well as the promising talent of Boone & Williams .. Once unsteady but now again st"eddy" House .... and always steady and always under appreciated by outsiders Jason Collins continues to grind it out - as for "pinball" Carter who gets both the credit and often the blame while being bounced around by opposing players each night can once again look forward to RJ sharing the load - and J Kidd can perhaps rest if not physically - mentally - knowing he has more options now then at any time during the season - House, Nochbar, Moore, Jefferson & Carter - with Williams ready to hold the fort and at times gain ground and bench minutes for him ..... The Nets are a team - not always playing at their best ... but always playing as a team, thinking as a team and NEVER placing blame on one another or their coaches ..... That's what it's all about -

Here's what I see in a nutshell Carter - feast or famine, disprupts team flow, one man team Krystic - no defense, no muscle Kidd - okay Collins - can't finish near the basket .. defense no enough to make up for lack of offense Jefferson - okay BENCH Williams - okay Moore - okay Robinson - done due to age Wright - lacks confidence Adams - okay Coaching Frank - over coaches - can't manage superstars

Sports has been sliced diced and chopped up in a zillion ways, shapes forms and colors with perhaps the NBA being the leader .... TV does the same .... if it's not the advertising that permeates our brains ... it's the embedded control that cable TV and satellite TV have over our pocket books .... each sport is creating it's own network .... the internet is fast becoming the most inexpensive vehicle to hear and see ALL NBA & MLB games ..... but how long will that last??? until they figure it's time to pull the plug on all of us and increase rates. It's no longer about making profits ... it's about making excessive profits ..... ask the oil companies. I suppose if your benefiting in some way from this bulk extortion of the masses you don't mind even if you are only middle income. Entertainment is important to people who live in a difficult society ... ask the romans. and ask the media who control the perception of what's right - wrong and normal!
