It would have been perfect if the Mets had cooperated and lost a few games - so they could further crucify big bad Omar Minaya - blame him - call for his resignation or firing - after all - how dare he take exception to the professional manner in which the news conducts itself ;-0 LOL

That's what News is about nowadays just plain SHIT - and it's all BAD - just like horror movies that for some inexplicable reason draw people like flies to a corpse -

It is the sickness that now pervades our society - cynical, bizarre, perverse, perverted, sick, disgusting - it must be something our enemies have added to the water we drink -

What choice does SNY have - without the News there is no SNY

It's amazing how smart Adam Rubin, Jeff Wilpon and The news editorial staff have become about baseball matters.

How on a dime Darling, Hernandez & Cohen the more often objective trio can in unison assume Minaya is wrong - and that Rubin didn't in fact explicitly campaign for a job as all indications would suggest. It's almost as if it doesn't matter - although in jounalism - even the sorry state it's in today - it would not be acceptable for a writer to publish articles about something they had a personal interest in - one has to wonder if the articles would have been published had Rubin been given a position - or if Bernazard had not rubbed Rubin the wrong way during one of Rubins self-defined exploratory "rhetorical" conversations with Bernazard among others.

It really doesn't matter - the News & Rubin & co. not the Mets or SNY or the Wilpons have the bully pulpit. At least Minaya still has some self-respect for not playing along with the media's feeding frenzy on Bernarzard - the need for The News to create news to fill the vacuum of a long summer.

SO it's not about injuries - that would be much to obvious and boring - it's about Bernazard or Minaya - it will always be about anything that sells newspapers - often not the truth - the truth doesn't sell - speculation, controversy and fiction is much more entertaining - they can be created, manipulated and molded to match what people want to read and hear -

It's much too simple & boring to acknowledge that if Mets pitchers and position players had remained healthier - the team would be in a much better place.

News has become indistinguishable from talk radio - with articles written as if reacting to frenetic fans phone calls and rigged polls - and ignorance has become a tool not to be avoided but to be exploited.

If you want to help build a NY Metro area vehicle for truth in sports news - this blog is the place to start. It is devoted to telling the truth - starting with the simple premise that you can not trust what is reported by the NY sports News media.

100% of the players will vouch for that - in private of course!

First and foremost - THE DAILY NEWS SUCKS as a vehicle for news.

As is the case with all media now a days - they create news - and break the ethical and moral standards of true news reporting daily.

There is absolutely no doubt Adam Rubin was prospecting for work on the baseball operations side - or if not that creating controversy was a boon to him not a problem. Sadly he knows it, his colleagues know it and The News knows it

Right now his career has shot skywards - not because of his ability - but because as Curt Gowdy Jr. put it when approached by Rubin about his prospects on cable and told he was too flat - HE IS NO LONGER FLAT!

The News will milk it, Rubin will milk it, SNY will even milk it - and his fellow reporters will milk it - and as always is the case with the media - they have the bully pulpit and take the approach that the louder they speak the more right they appear to be -

That's just the sad state of affairs in our society - it's not just a sports news problem - it's a media ability and ethics problem.

Even our President has to contend with the circus like atmosphere that news organizations create to increase ratings and circulation. The truth doesn't matter, what's important doesn't matter - and sadly lives don't matter - just making money!!!!

The Mets lost - it won't be the first or the last time they've lost due to a players error.

The Phillies lost - and if they had won - no matter. All that counts is the last strike of the last winning game in the world series.

Nothing before that matters - if we don't get that far no one event is going to be the reason. It's a team sport.

And that's that!

analysis:

Eagles have "mental " momentum - both teams balance out on ability - Giants have disadvantage of depending on last year to inspire themselves - just a little bit less hungry while Philly is very hungry and have under achieved thus far based on their talent base.

Eagle turnovers could reverse this prediction. But are more likely to reinforce this prediction on Giant side.

Steelers over Chargers:
Put simply it's very good defense over "okay" offense.

Quarterbacks are the wildcard - steelers are overdue for some offense

I like the steelers backup players - the quarterback included

Turnovers could reverse results ( as always!) but more likely to reinforce this prediction.
